Catching up
The Guys
After Jamie and Amy's beautiful wedding
Then, we hosted our first Thanksgiving as husband and wife at our house. My mother and father-in-law, my brother-in-law and sister-in-law, neice, nephew, and mom and dad all came over Thanksgiving Day to celebrate with us. We actually had family with us all week. It was wonderful! We were exhausted they left but had a great time while they were here. We also put up our Christmas tree and ordered our Christmas cards (which were sent out today).

Why is it, that some people work so hard for things and want something so bad while others could care less??? Most of you know that I am the cheerleading coach at the high school in the county I teach in. We have our first competition this Saturday (which for the record....we are not ready for) and out of 20 girls, I had 15 there and 3 left early today! If they want to win a competition then they have to come to practice. I am coaching this sport because I love it and I think that the squad has the potential to win but I honestly believe that they don't care. I am so tired of sitting at practice and saying the same things over and over again and it not sinking in! I am going to keep putting my all into every preactice, game, and competition and then I am done! I don't deserve to sit at home, school, etc and think and stress about this! I should be able to come home and relax at night but I can't because I care too much and want them to succeed.
Everyone have a wonderful week! Hopefully, mine will get better!

I am sitting here at home thinking about what I can do to keep from getting the flu. It is spreading in Monticello like wildfire! We have a bunch of kids out at the primary school...not to mention Kyle has kids at the middle school out....and I have 5 cheerleaders that are sick!! Any suggestions on what I can do to keep from getting it?? I have washed my hands for two weeks at least 5 times a day and today I sprayed myself with Lysol. maybe all these things combined will keep me well!
I hope everyone has a great week and stays well! =)
I only have 2 more days of school this week! I think we should have Mondays off every week...I would take Tuesdays off too!

Our run thru - right before the team came running on the field!
Kyle running on the field!! =)
My girls doing the dance to fight song after we scored a TOUCHDOWN!
Kyle and me on the carriage ride =)
We went to Babyland General Hospital...where Cabbage Patch Kids are born!
We walked through the North Ga Corn Maze....I wouldn't have made it without Kyle!
After the corn maze, we spent the rest of the afternoon playing a game of putt-putt with my parents. Then we went to dinner on the Chattahoochee river, just Kyle and me, while my parents went to a restaurant on the other end of town. We had such a good time. I hope we get to go back again soon....or at least have a weekend together like that again soon. Hope everyone had a safe and happy holiday weekend!

What a weekend!!! =)
Shelby and me!
Kalyn and me!
My brother-in-law, Greg; sister-in-law, Heather; and nephew, Ben; and neice, Ginny Grace; came up for the game and to spend the weekend with us! After the game Friday night, we were all pretty tired so we didn't do much! Saturday morning, we got up and went to Macon to get things for Ben's birthday party. We ate breakfast/lunch at Cracker Barrel (that's where I wanted to eat) and it was so good! Then we ran a few errands in Macon. When we got home, we all took a nap before spending the evening by the pool! Kyle grilled and Greg, Becky, Walt and Kalyn came over! It was a fun night with family and friends! When they left Sunday, Kyle and I were tired, so we took a nap before he had to go to work! I spent Sunday afternoon/evening writing thank you notes!
We had a great weekend! I hope everyone else did too!

Another week
This week was so busy! I had practice (like always) three days and Kyle had practice every day! Thursday and Friday nights, I hung out at the house alone because Kyle went to watch some teams that play in their scrimmage games. It was nice to not have to cook....but it was really quiet in the house (and I missed Kyle). Thursday was just me until Kyle got home (which I was asleep whenhe came in) because Sadie got "fixed" that morning and had to stay at the vet overnight.
Football season has offically started! Our first game is this coming up Friday against Social Circle! Our team is looking good this year and hopefully will get a win like they did in the scrimmage against GMC! I think part of the reason out team looks good is due to the coaching staff =) Anyway, cheerleading is rolling again. We do not have our first competition until October 3 but we are working hard every week to get better! They are doing so good and I am so proud of them! For the first time since I began coaching, I have a group of girls that get along, work well together as a team, and work hard....I think they ALL really want to do well this year! It makes me so happy to see them work as a team and grow as a team! They are beginning to hit stunts and make improvements every day! I'll keep you updated on our progress in football and cheerleading!
We had a wonderful weekend together! We relaxed and watched movies which is not something that we get to do very often because we are normally so busy! It was great to be able to have some Kyle and Courtney time! I love those times!
I hope everyone has a wonderful week!

LONG TIME
This summer, we spent a lot of time travelling....before and after the wedding.
This is at the Hoover Dam (we took a day trip here when we were in Vegas)
This was the second night of our honeymoon in the Bahamas!
Myrtle Beach with Greg, Heather, Ben and Ginny Grace (I am Aunt Courtney now!!)Lake Lanier for the Reece family reunion!
Now school is back in and we are as busy as ever. I have cheerleading 3 days a week and competitions start in October and he has football every day! We started off our football season on the right foot in our scrimmage game with a 40-7 WIN against GMC! Our home opener is August 28 at historic Rose Bowl Field in Monticello against Social Circle! I hope this is going to be a good season! I am now a coach's wife and the wins and losses affect me more now! I am always going to support Kyle and whatever team he is coaching for because that is what he loves!
I hope everyone had a wonderful summer and those of you whoe are teachers are enjoying your school year! I promise I will update more often!

WEEK IN REVIEW
Saturday was a blast! We had so much fun with the people who have taken us in as family/friends in Monticello. We got some great gifts from some great people on top of the fun time! We wish some of our other friends could have been there too, but everyone lives so far away! They will be there for the most important day which is 52 days away!!! That is all that matters!
Sunday was a busy day. We got up and drove to Macon to do some shopping. We needed things for us and I had to get some stuff to complete Brittney’s baby shower gift from Mrs. Debby and me! I am making something really cute for her and I hope she likes it! As soon as the shower is here, I will put pictures of my creation on here. We met Greg, Heather, and the kids at Olive Garden for lunch. We haven’t seen them since spring break. Lunch was really good but we didn’t get to stay and chat long because Heather had a meeting and I had a wedding shower to go to. When we got home from Macon, Kyle’s parents were at our house. I ran in and spoke and went to Eatonton to the shower. His parents came down for his surgery that was on Monday. I was nervous about it.
Monday morning, we got up at 5:30 to get ready to go to Macon for his surgery. This procedure was the lesser of the two procedures to get rid of the cancer. They had to do 2 cuts to get it all…but they did get it all!! They also told him no radiation this time!! That was good news. We thought that they would close the hole up on Tuesday, but the plastic surgeon could not close it until Wednesday. So, Tuesday I went back to work. I was exhausted and I am getting a cold. My kids were glad to see me which made me happy! The day was long and I was ready to be at home. When I got home it was time to get ready for Wednesday and surgery again.
Wednesday was a long day. We arrived at the hospital at 11:30 to do pre-addmission testing. As soon as that was over, we went straight to the day surgery wing of the hospital. They put us straight in a room to get him ready. The nurse came in around 1:15 to get the IV started and begin the fluids. About 1:45 the nurse came to take him to the holding area for the OR. Then the waiting began. This was the hardest and longest time of my life. Around 3, the phone in the room rang and they told me he was still in the holding area...had not been to the OR yet! So, all that time that we had been waiting was really for nothing. Again the phone rang at 4 and they told us he was in the OR and he was doing fine. So, the wait began again. The doctor came to the room around 5:30 to tell us how the surgery went. He did great. They opened the old scar and pull the skin to cover the hole. So, no skin graft and no new scar. (Not that I would care! I just care that he is here!) The doctor told us he would be in recovery for about an hour and a half. Well, at 8 pm(2.5 hours later) I was finally able to see him and bring him home. He slept most of the night, but the time he did get up so did I just to make sure he was ok. So, not a lot of sleep! But I stayed home today with him and we both rested! He is doing great! Not in a lot of pain. I guess I will go back to work tomorrow....2 out of 5 days this week, thats not too bad!
Hope everyone had a wonderful week!

WHAT A WEEK!!
Here is my sweet Daisy!!
Here is our little pooper!!! Look at that face!!! =)
Thursday, today was the last day of testing...thank goodness! I will have my parapro back tomorrow and the kids don't have to be SO quiet! Yesterday a teacher brought us tadpoles because we are studying ponds and frogs this week. Well, first thing this morning, my kids noticed that one of our tadpoles has 4 legs! So, all day they wanted to check on our tadpoles! Today was the only day that I did not have something to do after school. So, I came home and counted money for Relay for Life and played with our puppies! I am headed to the back porch now to clean up and go through some of my junk to get rid of. Kyle is at practice...game tomorrow! Supper is already done....I cooked chicken and rice and it has been in the crockpot all day! It smells so good! If you didn't notice, I cooked supper every night this week....Kyle is taking me out tomorrow night after the game!I hope everyone had a great week! I will post pictures this weekend from a couple's shower that our AMAZING friends from Monticello are throwing for us Saturday night!

Typical Monday
Today at school was not too bad....just a typical Monday! Had 8.5 million things to do this afternoon. Got most of them accomplished so far, still a lot to do at home. I am a teacher and it is still 6 o'clock before I get home....I thought teachers got home early from work! HA! I am finally home and I have a terrible headache. The dogs are chasing each other around the house barking which is not helping my head! I'm cooking my man dinner while he is at practice! I'm ready for him to be home so he can handle these wild dogs while I try to get my headache to go away!
Hope everyone had a great Monday!!

BUSY, BUSY, BUSY
Saturday morning came and staying in the bed sounded like the best plan! Kyle had a double header and I had plenty to do. After a quick trip to Eatonton, I went to the recreation dept for opening day. Saw a lot of students, which they think is the best thing ever! I didn't get to stay long because I had to go to Brittney's baby shower. That was a lot of fun and she got a lot of good stuff that she will need! Wasn't home long before Kyle got home. We were going to go to the movies, but we decided to stay here. We rented a couple of movies. We watched "No Country for Old Men" first and it was weird. I didn't really understand it! Then we watched "Marley and Me". I cried....of course! It was such a good movie.....it was sad though! I told Kyle we cannot have kids and dog's cause I could not handle them losing their pet! We probably will have both at some point....especially since we want to start soon.
Sunday was just as busy as the rest of the weekend. We went to church and came straight home. We drove to Eatonton with both dogs and ate lunch with my parents. That was fun! We have not seen them a lot lately cause we have been so busy. Then we went to my house and got the LAST load! Everything is out and it is listed with a realtor now! Hopefully it will sell soon....KEEP OUR FINGERS CROSSED!!!
Hope everyone had a great weekend! It's back to work tomorrow!! 5 weeks of school left!

I plan on spending the evening with him and finishing up invitations! I hope to mail them out by the end of the week...which is tomorrow! Be on the lookout for your invitation in the mail!
I LOVE HIM! =)
Hope everyone had a wonderful day and has a wonderful evening!

Today has been a rough one. Kyle went to the doctor for the results of his test today. He found out that his cancer is back. Those of you who don't know, Kyle had Basal Cell Carcinoma two years ago on his face. He had surgery and did radiation in 2007. He has not had any problems since then. About 2 months ago, a place came up on his face and we thought he had just scratched himself. He already had an appointment for a check-up with the doctor who did his surgery last time. When the doctor saw it, he said "it was more than likely the same thing." So, the did a biopsy and the doctor was right. I found all this out at school today because he would not let me go with him...HARD HEADED MAN!!! He is having surgery April 27. Please keep him in your prayers. I know that everything is going to be ok and we will make it through this. I am just tired of hearing the words...."I have cancer!" I have heard those words too many times in my lifetime. I also ask that everyone support your local Relay for Life. If you are not currently involved in a relay, PLEASE try to get involved. I would love for a cure for cancer to be found in my lifetime!
All of the above evolved around lunch time....needless to say, my lunch was not eaten. After lunch, I was sitting in the office, talking to a friend (I had to get out of my classroom. I didn't want to cry in front of the kids). Well, the phone rang, so I answered it....at the primary school, everyone has multiple job titles. As I was hanging up the phone, this child comes in asking for the nurse (who was at lunch). He said his teacher thought he had a fever, so, I took his temp....no fever. He then proceeded to tell me that he "thinks his teacher thinks he has a fever because he has stress. A little girl in my class is causing me stress. She won't leave me alone." I asked, "Did you tell your teacher she is giving you stress?" His response, "No, it just started at lunch." I am biting my tongue at this point so I don't laugh in his face. I tell him he doesn't have a fever, to go back to lunch and tell a montior that he needs to not sit by that little girl. About that time, the assistant principal comes out of her office and asks what I'm doing. I'm thinking, "Great, she thinks I'm not doing my job." No, that wasn't it at all.......she needed me to witness something......a paddling!!! All of these activities at school helped get my mind of the matter at hand.
Life is GREAT and I am so in love! Kyle and I will make it through this with the help of our friends, family, and GOD!!
