JANUARY 19

January 19, 2001 - exactly 9 years ago was when I was hit head on by a drunk driver! I have been through so much since then! Yes, this was an awful thing to happen but it made me realize a few things: 1) God won't give you anything you cannot handle; 2) Be thankful for EVERY thing, EVERY day; 3) I am much stronger than I realized (emotionally); 4) and people truly care about me.

During the last nine years I have accomplished a lot:
Graduated high school, 10 ankle surgeries (2 on left ankle and 8 on right), Joined Alpha Xi Delta at the University of West Georgia and made some of the BEST friends a girl could have, Graduated with my Bachelor's Degree from UWG, become a teacher (I LOVE IT), coached Varsity cheerleading, met the love of my life and gotten married!

I cannot believe that it has been nine years, but when I look back over those years I realize what God has done in my life in that amount of time! I am so blessed to be here and to be loved by the people I am loved by! God is amazing! I look forward to seeing what he has in store for me in the upcoming nine years!

I LOVE long weekends! Especially when I get to spend them with people I love the most!

Friday night, Kyle had a basketball game. His team won! I am so proud of him! He is a wonderful coach and those kids love him! I road with some friends to the game to support my husband! I love sitting in the stands watching him coach....knowing that he is such an amazing person and loves his job - even when people criticize him for the job he does!

Saturday morning, I got up and drove to Athens to see my BEST friend Mrs. LAH! It was so much fun to catch up! We don't see each other much but when we do....we have so much fun together! We went to Wal*mart and got me Wii Fit Plus (which I am so excited about) first! Then we ate at this great Mexican restaurant! We sat and talked about all that has been going on in our lives lately! I am so PROUD of her! She also went to school to become a teacher and this is her first year teaching and she is AMAZING! She is doing such a good job as a fifth grade teacher and I look up to her so much! If I get a job somewhere teaching 5th grade...I know who I am going to call! We also went by her classroom for me to use her Cricut to cut some letters out! Yes, I have one, but I have the first one they created and it is small! I love hers!! I want one so bad! I keep telling Kyle how bad I want one thinking maybe it will help me get it! :) I hated to leave cause I was having so much fun but I was ready to see Kyle! Once I got home, he was working at a basketball game so I broke-in the new Wii Fit Plus!

Sunday was a fun day! I slept late, so we missed church....but we still said our prayers! We took a friends' daughter, one of our flower girls, June Bug to the movies for her birthday! We went to see Alvin and the Chipmunks, The Squeakual! It was very cute! We also got to see Kyle's brother, sister-in-law, nephew and neice! They were at their lake house in Eatonton so we stopped by on the way home from the movie! Kayln and Ginny Grace had a blast playing together! We had not been home long when my cell phone rang....it was Coach H. (our AD - also my principals husband) and they wanted us to go to dinner! We always have so much fun with them! They have been wonderful mentors to us over the last 3 years and we look forward to the years to come!!

Today was a fun husband/wife day! Kyle had his 3rd laser treatment this morning, so off to Macon we went! The treatment didn't take as long as we thought so when he was finished, we went shopping for Kyle some jeans and me some boots! Jeans - check.....Boots - no luck! Oh well, I'll get some one day! We then used our Chili's gift card for lunch (which was very YUMMY!) We then headed home to spend the afternoon together with Sadie! We napped, cleaned the house, played Wii, and just spent time together which is scarce when you are a coach's wife (but I love every minute of it!)

It is sooooo COLD!!! I know that it is January but I cannot remember it ever being this cold in GA in January!!! I love sweaters and scarves and gloves and hats....BUT I would rather it be a little bit warmer!!!

We did get an extra day off thought which was nice! On Thursday afternoon, our superintendent made the call that we would be closed on Friday (YAY!!!)....we were ALL looking forward to a day off (even though we had only been back 3 days) and for SNOW!!! Well, we got the first wish, a day off but we didn't get any snow! Oh well, maybe another time!

Kyle and I had a great time with family and friends on this long weekend! Not looking forward to this week though because Kyle will be home late 4 of the 5 nights (meeting Monday, games Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday)! But that is the life of a coach and his wife!

Wow....It is hard to believe that it is 2010!! There are so many things I am thankful for in 2009 but I am ready and looking forward to what 2010 has in store for me! I cannot believe that Kyle and I have been married for a little over 6 months....it seems like yesterday that we got married!That was the happiest day of my life thus far! I am so happy and excited about what 2010 holds for our relationship....it can only get better!!

What a year!!

I cannot believe that 2009 is coming to an end! This year has flown by! When I think about all the things that I have been blessed with, I cannot stop smiling! Kyle and I are happily married and having so much fun spending our lives together! I am looking forward to what 2010 has to offer!

Catching up

It's been so long, I know....BUSY, BUSY, BUSY!!!

Football and cheerleading have ended so now I have more time at home, which is nice. Kyle is coaching middle school basketball but that is not bad we have more time together than during football. So, here are some things that have been happening around here....

Then, we hosted our first Thanksgiving as husband and wife at our house. My mother and father-in-law, my brother-in-law and sister-in-law, neice, nephew, and mom and dad all came over Thanksgiving Day to celebrate with us. We actually had family with us all week. It was wonderful! We were exhausted they left but had a great time while they were here. We also put up our Christmas tree and ordered our Christmas cards (which were sent out today).

So, that is what we have been up to lately. I will try to do better to keep this updated. We are looking forward to our first Christmas as Mr & Mrs Kyle Gourley!! :)

CRAZY TIME

Fall is such a crazy time of year for me.....school, cheerleading, football....and I added to that by becoming a coach's wife which involves even more time!!! But I love it all!! I am counting down the days until cheerleading is over....4 weeks!! I love cheerleading and it has always been a big part of my life...but I am done! I cannot take the stress anymore and Kyle is having to put up with me being ill a lot because I am mad at the girls and can't take it out on them because technically, they are children!! Anyway, here are some pictures from the beginning of fall!

I love fall and everything that comes with the season, but I am so ready for football and cheerleading to be over so that Kyle and I can have some more time together... I miss him!!
