Being a mom is something that I have always dreamed about! Now the time has come that my dream is coming true! I have a beautiful baby girl, Whitney Reece Gourley, and have loved every minute with her! Someone once told me that "having children is like watching your heart walk outside of your body!" I now know what she means. Whitney is my heart!!! Every second with her is amazing....even the sleepless nights, less alone time with my husband, less time to myself, and stinky diapers. She has only been here for 9 weeks, but I cannot imagine my life without her!! I am looking forward to watching her grow and experience life!! She is my world now and I love her with all my heart!!

Real Friends

The difference between a simple friend and a real friend:

• A simple friend, when visiting, acts like a guest. A real friend opens your refrigerator and helps himself and doesn't even feel the least bit weird shutting you "Coke drawer" with his foot.
  


• A simple friend has never seen you cry. A real friend's shoulder is soggy from your tears.




• A simple friend doesn't know your parents' first names. A real friend has their phone numbers in their address book.



• A simple friend brings a bottle of wine to your party. A real friend comes early to help you cook and stays late to help you clean up.

• A simple friend hates when you call after they have gone to bed. A real friend asks you why you took so long to call.




• A simple friend seeks to talk to you about your problems. A real friend seeks to help you with your problems.



• A simple friend thinks the friendship is over when you have an arguement. A real friend calls you after you had a fight.



• A simple friend expects you to always be there for them. A real friend expects to always be there for you.

I have discovered over the last few years who my REAL friends are! Growing up and having a baby has changed me for the better and my REAL friends accept me for who I am and the mom I have become! They always believe in me, have confidence in me, and are there when I need them no matter the time of day or how busy they are! I love these friends like family and don't know what I would do without them! Throughout this post are pics of some of my REAL friends!

Wow 2011 is here!!! I have a lot coming up in the next few days!!!

• Monday, January 3: starting my Master's program
• Tuesday, January 4: go back to work after 9 weeks off :(
• Tuesday, January 4: also leaving Whitney for the first time :(
• Wednesday, January 5: my students return to school...I'm excited to see them but gonna miss my baby girl
• Thursday and Friday: test my students for report cards!
• Saturday, January 8: spend the day with Whitney while Kyle takes the GACE.
• Sunday, January 9: get together with my dad's side of the family

My cousin came to our house and too some maternity pictures for me. I never thought I would want to have pictures taken of me when I was "fat" but I love how they turned out! I am glad I had them taken and will definitely have them taken the next time! :)

As you can see, our year was pretty exciting! Bringing Whitney in the world was the most wonderful thing that could ever happen! I cannot wait to see what 2011 has in store for us! Watching Whitney grow is going to be so much fun!

My New Year's Resolution: Be more organized and keep my blog updated! :)

UPDATE

It's been a while....I know! All I have been doing is getting ready to meet our sweet baby girl!! I can hardly wait for her to be here!!!

School has started and it is a lot harder some days than I thought it would be. My back and hips hurt so bad somedays that I can barely move when I get home. I also have a lot less patience with my children each day. I have to remember they are 5 years old and say extra prayers each day so that I can make sure I am a positive influence in their lives.

I have had 2 baby showers and have 2 more! I am so blessed with such amazing family and friends! Here are a couple pictures from the showers I have had!

This is me and Kelly....she hosted the first baby shower! She has been friends with Kyle a long time and I am so glad that we have gotten so close!

1. I am so in love with my life!! I have the most amazing husband anyone could ask for and I love him more and more every day! I have a wild/crazy dog but I love her!! I have a baby girl on the way and cannot wait for her to be here!

2. I have the most amazing friends a girl could ask for! Not seeing my BEST friends all the time is hard but I know that when I need them they are there!

3. I love being a teacher!! I absolutely love children and getting to watch them grow in so many ways is a blessing!!

4. I'm obsessed with Kool-Aid right now!! I feel like such a kid...but it makes me smile when I am having a bad day!

5. My favortie movies to watch are Disney movies....mainly the classics, like: Cinderella, Snow White, The Little Mermaid, and The Lion King. But I like the new ones too....Cars, Toy Story, Toy Story 2, and cannot wait to see Toy Story 3! I am so excited to be able to watch these with Whitney one day!

6. I love to cook! Cooking is a way for me to get my mind off whatever is causing me stress at the time. I really like cookbooks and wish I had the time to cook all the new recipes I find!

7. I love my iPhone and texting! Between Kyle and me we send about 4,000 texts a month!! And I think that the iPhone was the best thing ever created!!! I love apps, too!!!

8. Massages and pedicures make me smile! They are the best way to relax! I could use both every day!

9. I want to live at the beach one day! To wake up at the beach every morning would be so amazing! Not to mention the sound of the waves and how relaxing it would be.

10. I am a cheerleader at heart! I cheered from elementary school thru high school and then I coached it for 3 years. I resigned as the coach this year and never thought that I would miss it...but I do! I don't miss the drama or time that it takes up but I miss so many things about it! I will always be a cheerleader at heart!
